Yes, if you want to drive a rental car in Ontario you’ll need some kind of insurance coverage in case something happens.   • The rental car company. You can purchase insurance from the rental company at extra cost. But, it might not cover everything. Make sure you’re aware of the coverage they provide and what they don’t.
